September Reflections 🫖

Every month deserves a little looking-back, and September gave me a lot to sit with.

This month, we picked up right where August left off. We'd pruned what wasn't serving us — now we needed to talk about what nobody warns you about: the quiet, empty-looking stretch that comes after the cut. The episode was called What Grows After You Let Go.

A FEW THINGS THIS MONTH TAUGHT ME

The empty space isn't a mistake. It's roots doing quiet work you can't see yet. Growth doesn't announce itself, and the bare stem isn't behind schedule.

What grows back is rarely a copy of what you cut. It comes back at a different angle, informed by everything it learned about where the light actually is. Give yourself permission to be surprised by your own growth.

You have to keep tending the empty-looking spot. This was the hardest one for me. It's tempting to redirect all your attention to what's already thriving and neglect the place you made the cut — but that place still needs light, even when it has nothing to show for it yet.

WHAT WE BUILT TOGETHER THIS MONTH

- The episode itself, continuing directly from August's cliffhanger

- The blog post that paired with it

- A carousel breaking the episode into sit-with-it pieces

- A Pinterest pin and quote card

- A TikTok teaser and an Instagram Reel visual metaphor for growth

- So many of you telling me what's taking root for you this season — I read every one

WHAT'S COMING NEXT

Now that some of you have new growth actually showing up, we need to talk about how you keep it alive. Next episode: Tending What You Chose to Keep.

Until then — steep slow, and grow on purpose.
